It has always been a dream of mine to be a teacher since a young age and I am truly grateful to be working in my “dream job.”

Is it easy? Oh no, it’s definitely NOT easy. But is it

worth it? Most definitely!

There is no greater joy than seeing a student finally understand a concept that they had been struggling with and helping a child develop a passion for a subject they hated or struggled with…

After completing a 3 year degree, I had an 18 month break working in finance which provided me with an awesome opportunity to learn and grow outside of the teaching sector.

I started my first teaching job as a long-term relief teacher in a New Entrant classroom in term 4 of 2017 and opened my first classroom in 2018 with year 2 students.

I spent four years teaching year 2, taught a class of year 4 students in 2022, and was then moved to a mixed year 5/6 class in 2023! Next year I will also be teaching year 5/6.

My first Classroom. I was so proud of my setup! I spent 2 solid weeks, cleaning, organising, and decorating my class – even making the bulletin borders out of coloured card!

During my beginning teacher years, I also took on the responsibility of Deputy to the eLearning and Digital Technology Lead teacher. In term 3 of 2021, I then took over the role of Lead Teacher. IT and eLearning are such a passion of mine, I love problem-solving and utilising technology to support and enhance my students learning.

I thoroughly enjoy perfecting and simplifying eLearning and IT systems, supporting my colleagues and the wider school with eLearning and Digital Technology.

Creativity runs through my veins!

I absolutely LOVE to be creative!

Whether it be painting, drawing, baking, cooking, taking photos, being crafty, creating clipart on PowerPoint, designing a board game, teaching activity, engaging lesson content for my students or creating a decor item for my classroom.

I always eagerly share these resources as well as the tips and tricks I have learned along the way with my colleagues and teacher friends.

I realised that these resources and my (limited) but expanding knowledge, tips, and tricks could be useful to others too!
